Data exchange

IFC

  • IFC-based data model: every element is an IFC entity with spatial structure, property sets and GUIDs
  • IFC models imported, analyzed, edited and exported (.ifc, .ifczip); BCF issues
  • Export to IFC2x3 or IFC4; IFC2x3 import (Coordination View 2.0)
  • Element types include the IFC 4x3 infrastructure types
  • Projects are saved in Lexo’s own .lxz format

Plan the construction site in the model with parameterized catalog components.

4D stages

The top license tier adds 4D stages for construction sequence planning.

Corridor design – alignments, profiles and cross sections – is done in cadwork Engineer, and the design refreshes live in Lexo. See Roads, Highways, and Rail.

In the field

Models can be shared to the field through BIMteam, cadwork’s separate cloud service, which runs as a web app on Android and iOS phones and tablets.

Python scripting and AI-assisted tools are covered under Lexo Extensions.
